mini-update

so im still getting used the working in St. Pete.....the drive has been a little more annoying than I expected but thats fine. I got to re-work some logos I has started which was cool. I also got to work on a homepage for the company. That was kind of terrifying to me at first because I have trouble thinking in "interactive mode"....I feel more comfortable with print. But it was so great to start learning how to layout a website.

first day at the internship!

So yesterday was my first day working at Hype Group. Of course going in I was nervous as hell but everyone was really nice and I got to start working on a logo project right away which was great. I got to design some logo options for a production company called the Scatter Brothers.

Besides the internship in St. Pete I am still applying for another design jobs in Sarasota, doing some freelance and the monthly illustrations for SRQ Magazine and some personal projects.....(hope I have bitten off more than I can chew). May was pretty relaxing but I think things will start to pick up pretty quickly now.

Sense of Place

So last semester I went on a field trip with my Darkroom class to the abandoned local high school. My friend Molly was nice enough to model for me. Since the end of the semester was a little crazy I didn't have time develop the film in the darkroom like I wanted but I did finally get it developed and printed yesterday. Here are a couple scans. I like the way they turned out...makes me wish I had brought more than just one roll of film.

I think that I am going to do my "Sense of Place" project on this trip. I like the idea of abandoned buildings and things that are left behind. Since I was not in the class that did "Sense of Place" this year I'll do it as one of my personal projects this summer.

Oh Hello!

"Hello!" to anyone who is reading my very first post! I have honestly never been very good at keeping up with blogs (even when I was a kid I tried to write in diaries all the time and never was able to keep up with them for more than a week or so). Anyway, I will be posting any work or updates about school/internships/life-in-general here if anyone wants to check it out. Of course, comments and critiques are always welcome so let me know what you think!
